Jenn Cecconi – Programmer, American Independent & Shorts

Based on the celebrated 1956 novel by J.R. Ackerley, MY DOG TULIP is a beautiful animated story (Christopher Plummer, Lynn Redgrave, Isabella Rossellini) about a man and his dog. Entirely hand drawn and painted using paperless computer technology, the film is both entertaining and endearing. A refreshing and honest film about dog ownership and friendship, this film, will be loved by all (even those who are not dog lovers). It is one of my top picks because of its sweetness, its honesty, simplicity, and humour. The animation is quiet and understated and simply beautiful. The cast who lent their voices are the perfect match to the animation and the story, creating a phenomenal experience for the audience.
