Chicago Chophouse and Boston Jazz Scene

Last night I got the chance to eat at the Chicago Chophouse with my man before heading to Eau Claire to see Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench.

When we arrived at the Chicago Chophouse, we received a cosy table in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant had made a special menu for us and just by reading it, both of us got really hungry - I think the fact we didn't really eat anything during the day helped too.

We both ordered a glass of red wine, which was very tasty but a little bit on the pricey side and started our four courses off with Cajun prawn and grilled Alaskan king crab with truffle oil. Being a big fan of truffle oil, I knew this couldn't disappoint me. And it didn't. It was just perfect.
The second course was a mixed green salad with sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. And once again, we both enjoyed it and we could hardly wait to get to the 3rd course: the steak.
I must admit that we're both very picky steak eaters. I choose a tenderloin, my man took a ribeye. The steaks were served with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
And here's our verdict:
But we weren't finished just yet. As dessert, we received a rare cheesecake. It looked delicious but it was just too much and too heavy, especially after 3 other courses.
After the dinner we rushed to Eau Claire to catch the jazz film Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench. It's basically a musical, although not in the traditional sense. The music just leads you through the story. I really enjoyed the film, its style and its music. After the screening, the director Damien Chazelle answered some questions from the audience. The director is in town as his film is selected for the Mavericks. One more day and we will know who'll get the prize !!!

But in the meantime, there are still plenty of films to see. If you're heading to the Globe and you're hungry before or after the film, I would recommend you just cross the street and go have dinner at Chicago Chophouse. You won't be disappointed!
